Taking time off to unwind is paramount to maintaining your overall health and wellbeing.
However, sometimes this can be a challenge - especially in a full-time role where you have responsibilities and limited annual leave.
This is why bank holidays are your best friend when it comes to booking time off. Not only is everyone else off (which means your emails won’t pile up) but also means you don’t have to use as much annual leave if you’re savvy about it.
In this blog, we look at how you can maximise your time off by coordinating your annual leave with upcoming bank holidays.
May day
The first Monday of May is May day bank holiday so why not take advantage and book the rest of the week off? In total, you’re looking at ten days' holiday in exchange for just 4 days of annual leave (Saturday 29th April - Monday 8th May).
The coronation of King Charles III
Yes, we did include Monday in the previous time off - well spotted. This is because we’ve got another bank holiday to look forward to on Monday 8th May for the King’s coronation celebrations!
You’ll also be pleased to learn that pubs across the UK will be extending their normal opening times by two hours that weekend, meaning you can enjoy your pints until 1AM.
Another one?
Don’t forget about the final bank holiday of the month, which falls on Monday, May 29. If you want to save your maximise your annual leave, we’d recommend booking off May 26th, 30th and 31st for a glorious six days off for the price of three.
Summer lovin’
Make the most of the sun and book off Tuesday 29th August - Friday 1st September to get a jammy nine days of holiday! This is all thanks to our last bank holiday for a while, on Monday 28th August.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…and I want to close my laptop!
Wind down for Christmas and try and bag annual leave on December 27, 28 and 29 for a merry 10 days of festivities.
