How to get involved with Move More September!

It’s September which can only mean one thing: it’s Move More September! Carry on reading to find out how to get involved and help fund cancer research.

What is ‘Move More September’?

As the title suggests, ‘Move More September’ is about encouraging everyone to get more active to help raise money for cancer research.

How can I get involved?

  • Get your running shoes on

Whether it’s an easy jog with friends or training for a marathon, make sure to share your runs on social media and choose a cancer charity to donate to. New to running? We recommend downloading the NHS ‘Coach to 5K’ app which is a podcast series that will coach you through each run and track your progress.

  • Set yourself a step-by-step challenge

If you prefer walking, try setting yourself a number of steps to achieve by the end of the month and set up a fundraising page for your chosen cancer charity. An easy way to get your steps in is by walking to work instead of using public transport or taking a walk in the park as part of your evening routine. Get your colleagues involved too to stay motivated!

  • Host an active event

Why not organise an active social event with your family, friends and colleagues so you can create awareness for cancer, raise some money and have a lot of fun in the process?! This could be a mini sports day, rounders or a group run - whatever you fancy. Just make sure to take lots of pictures, share on social media and speak to your charity of choice about where and how to donate.

We can’t wait to hear what you get up to this Move More September!
