Cycle to work this Friday!

On your bike! This Friday we’re celebrating National Cycle to Work Day - so why not get involved? Cycle to Work Day is an event designed for everyone: whether your bike hasn’t seen the light of day since 2005, or if you get those peddles spinning on the regular. It's an opportunity to hop on a bike and personally experience the many wonderful advantages that daily cycling brings.

Carry on reading to find out why you should consider dusting that bike down and getting involved!

Key benefits:

  • Physical Health

Cycling to work provides an excellent cardiovascular workout, helping to improve overall physical fitness and stamina. Regular cycling can also contribute to weight management, reducing the risk of obesity and related health issues.

  • Mental Well-being

Cycling is a great way to reduce stress and promote mental well-being. Physical activity releases endorphins, which can boost mood and reduce feelings of anxiety or depression. Additionally, cycling outdoors allows commuters to connect with nature and enjoy a refreshing change of scenery, which can have positive effects on mental health.

  • Environmental Impact

Last but certainly not least, cycling to work can significantly reduce your carbon footprint. By opting for a more eco-friendly mode of transportation, cyclists contribute to reducing air pollution and overall greenhouse gas emissions, helping to combat climate change and create a greener, more sustainable environment.

*As someone working in the built environment, it is even more important to be environmentally conscious given the significant impact that buildings and construction activities have on our planet!
