Building the Future Young Persons’ Advisory Panel to improve built environment for future

In a bid to improve the built environment, Building has announced the launch of its Young Persons’ Advisory Pane.

The panel, which is made up of 14 industry leaders under the age of 35, will look at key issues in construction and how to tackle them moving forward.

From quarterly virtual roundtables, mentoring and comment pieces, to weekly discussions on Linkedin and essay competitions - the panel hopes to engage with generations across the board to find solutions.

Over the coming weeks, topics will include flexible working, net zero housing, building safety and workplace culture.

Wojciech Szewczak, principal consultant at Ramboll, said: “Including the next generation of industry leaders in the conversation will provide a different perspective, passion for making a difference and contribute to developing ideas towards a better and more sustainable future.”

Chloe McCulloch, editorial director at Building, said: “The Young Person’s Advisory Panel is a key component of the Building the Future Commission, and aims to provide feedback from the perspective of construction’s next generation of leaders.”

Pillar Partnership encourages any movement towards making the built environment a more sustainable, inclusive and forward-thinking sector and looks forward to seeing what the panel comes up with.
